HTC's top honchos flew over to the Mobile World Conference in Barcelona to reveal their newest phone, the HTC One. They brought us in to score their whole event. Linking in with the larger than life images created by the inimitable Andrew Sloat and the guys at 1st Avenue Machine, we handcrafted custom scores for each featured presenter and much much more. Here's a treat from the show: one of our many megamixes, we lovingly refer to as "Flammable, But Unlikely." It is pleased to meet your ears.
Put on your boots and dip your chips in some queso... the documentary we scored "Decoding Deepak" is existentially exploding at SXSW. We are so proud to have been a part of this project. And to have attained utter consciousness.
These Art Director's Club people are plain insane. I guess you get what you deserve when you start trusting today's youth. Sooner or later we all get an X in the face.
Colosse is a 30 foot wooden robot with feathered friends in high places. We soundtracked his adventures in hopes of learning a thing or two about friendship. But now we know that we just have a thing for robots. Colosse will hit the festival circuit soon, but in the meantime you can check out the trailer here.
Have we ever told you how much we hate boasters?
Anyway. Awesomer posted our Music Box video! We're so great!
Our favorite little recurring dream is our 2% milkfat fairytale about shepherds and bread-backpacks. It recently spent some time atop the New York Times masthead. Some unnamed sources have gone so far as to call our stint up there an "occupation."
Mary-Kate and Ashley hit us up on our pagers for some 8-bit beats meets cinematic strings, all in time for turkey day. We turned up the oven to 375, changed into sweatpants, washed our hands, and got working. This is what came out.
Google rhymes with Noodle, our favorite of which is a fresh fettucine, which works delightfully with an arrabiata, which rhymes with Mazda Miata, which we are gonna buy with proceeds from this job.
Holy F! We're flattered, stricken, and knocked off our repurposed kitchen chairs. We've been given the Young Guns Award from the prestigious Art Director's Club. Thank you ADC and congrats to the other incredibly talented artists that won.
In the words of our mentor, Oops We Did It Again! The Vitamin Water 60 second spot we wrote music for won Best Commercial at the Cannes / MOFilm Commercial Festival. Congrats to Houseblend Media and director Josh Soskin for such an awesome commersh, and for inviting us to be a part of it. These are the kinds of projects we love. Creative filmmaking, delicious bevs, and hot mermaids... It's all we can ask for. Check it here.
The online media mavens at Stash Magazine continue to prove their good taste by highlighting Huma-Huma's work. Their newest issue features Aaron Stewart's Starfish, a short film so fun we couldn't help but score it. Seriously, it's like an invertebrate-fueled compulsion.
Peep the preview here.
Google has done it again with Hangouts, their new platform for casual video chatting. You can peep Hangouts on Google's blog; they asked us to hangout a bit and make some music, and we thank them kindly for bringing the refreshments.
Another stimulating mix/remix we had to do for "Hello, I Like You." She said, "I mean, we've been going steady for months now and you barely even make eye contact with me..." And he said, "I think this is moving too fast."
Guilherme Marcondes is a master of the finger gun. Smokin' visuals for this new spot for Coke's energy drink "Burn" and flame broiled beats by you know who.
Fun Xtras: Behind the Scenes
Echinoderms with this much of a travel bug are a rare find, but Aaron Stewart has just the sort of five-pointed regenerating brain to bring one to the big screen. If "funnest" was a word we'd use it to describe the multi-section score we got to do for this one. Bestest Everest.
Stash mines the internet for the media world's gold, silver and diamonds, then ships it out rough and uncut in the form of online mags. We got plucked for the latest issue and gave them 9 of our shiniest gems for free distribution. Put that on your pendant and dangle it.
The only similarity between Huma-Huma and Charlie Sheen: winning. Just kidding, we have tons in common (doing drugs, embarrassing ourselves in public, formerly with Denise Richards, etcetera etcetera!)... We just got back from one thousand hors du ouvres and two thousand cocktails at Tribeca Film Festival and MOFilms events. We won First Place in a contest to make a Windows commercial, featuring the new aspects of Windows Live. Mucho respect to Josh Soskin / Houseblend Media for including us. And thanks for the delicious scotches.

Vimeo is just spreading the love on us and Mixtape Club like almond butter on toasted brioche. "Hello, I Like You" is Vimeo's Short of the Week and was on the Vimeo homepage all day long today. Do you like you too? Hello.
Huma-Matt co-produced a record! Xylos, a spicy electro-pop five piece from Brooklyn, just hit Itunes with their debut LP. It was immediately picked up as a New York Times "Critics' Choice." Matt produced half the album with the band and co-wrote a song. Who knew twisting a virtual knob from 5 to 6 could be worth so much real press.
We love Google again and again. Here's another tasty "Search Story" we popped out of the musical oven. Surprise!
Ch-ch-check it here.
Yeah, it's easy to throw the 'ol exclamation point on every new announcement, but it took restraint to keep it down to just one for this. 16,000 views later, the Music Box Showtime music video is still kicking ass on youtube and we're honoring our devoted clickees with the opportunity to buy the track on Itunes now -> here
Sure, our music sounds sexy, but nothing gets the point across like a few sweeping beauty shots.
Usually we wake up and have coffee. But now we've added yogurt to our morning routine. Delicious yogurt. Chobani asked us to work on this wonderful holiday story, and it was a real treat. It tells a magical story, animated beautifully by our bigtime buddy Yves. We got whisked to a far away place, channeled our inner soothsayers, and made this music. Chobanzai!!!
Hypothetically speaking, what would happen if Showtime threw a kegger and someone shut the lights off while Huma-Huma and Mixtape Club got social in the corner? Speculate no longer. You're gonna love this music video.
the official Showtime "Short Stories" series featuring "Music Box"
Another opportunity to work with Hornet's finest came our way and we jumped on it. Mixtape Club & Yves Geleyn's choice of household materials and origami animals was great inspiration for our small ensemble of players who plucked and bowed their way into the animation's finer points. Be sure to check out the spot AND the interactive site.
Pixar plus Google equals Huma-Heaven. We're such big fans of both companies that we jumped at the opportunity to do music and sound for their collaborative commercial/promo for Toy Story 3. Our spot plays before the movie in theaters... (in 5.1 surround!) Go see it before it's too late!
Super cool boob tubes in the third dimension! Our pals at Odopod asked us to do custom music and sound for another beautiful Sony website. We love these kinds of projects because we get to generate a whole pile of sound effects and music that fit together outside of the constraints of time. And goshdangit, Peyton and JT were a pleasure to work for.

We're pumped. We'd been glued to the screen watching the 2010 World Cup, and then Google's European arm asked us to do some music for one of their World Cup commercials. We put down the sausages and beer for a moment, and popped out this energetic samba track. The word "Olé" now triggers a pavlovian coffee reflex and the immediate pouring of fresh espressos for all three of us. GOOOOOOAAAAALLLLLLLLLAAAAA!!!!!
Dearest Friends and Family. We finally learned how to use it... we'd been hearing so much about it but now we know, and "the Net" is just crazy! Fine, we'll admit it, we were watching Sandra Bullock's life's work on Netflix and she taught us life skills and street smarts, so we got off our asses and made a website. And oh lord how delicious is this internet!?? Just a bit of lemon, sprig o' rosemary, and seasonings... In other words, this is our new website - please check it out and let us know how you think we can improve it. Welcome to the future. We love you more than you know.
